Reddick’s departure may impact the Eagles’ pass rush, which struggled in the previous season.

Edge rusher Haason Reddick of the Philadelphia Eagles will be traded to the New York Jets in exchange for a conditional third-round pick in 2026, which could be upgraded to a second-round selection depending on Reddick’s performance.

Edge rusher Haason Reddick of the Eagles is being traded to the New York Jets for a conditional third-round pick in 2026—possibly a second—according to sources who spoke with ESPN.

If Reddick has 10 or more sacks and 67.5% of the playing time this season, the 2026 pick moves up to the second round. It’s a third picture for 2023 if not.@AcjiqZE2L4 on Twitter

Reddick, a Camden native and former Temple college football player, is anticipated to sign a new deal with the Jets following the trade. He was a tremendous asset to the Eagles.

The loss of Reddick could have an effect on the Eagles pass rush, which had trouble last year. With a career-high 16.0 sacks in 2022 and 11.0 sacks in 2023, Reddick will be playing in close proximity to Temple University, where he attended college.

The Jets pursued Shaquil Barrett and Jadeveon Clowney after making it obvious that they needed to find a replacement for Reddick. But in the end, they traded for the displeased Reddick because they thought he was a more all-around pass rusher.

The Eagles, on the other hand, believe that Bryce Huff, a younger player they acquired, has greater potential than Reddick.

Both teams had to take into account their salary cap circumstances; the Jets probably had to rearrange contracts in order to accommodate Reddick. This transaction
