Eagles and The New York Jets have finally signed a Trade Deal on Haason Reddrick on $55 million contract adding some potential.

Since Bryce Huff left the Philadelphia Eagles as a free agent, the New York Jets have been searching for an edge rusher. The Jets found their man on Friday—the same one that Huff recently benched in Philadelphia.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Jets acquired Haason Reddick from the Eagles for a third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. If Reddick plays 67.5 percent of the defensive snaps this season and records 10 sacks, that pick may move to the second round.

After losing Huff, who finished the previous season with an NFL career-high 10 sacks, the Jets have made a significant addition. Jadeveon Clowney was a free agent that New York had dabbled with until he signed with the Carolina Panthers earlier this week. However, they have finally decided on Reddick, a 29-year-old who is in his last season of a deal that expires in 2024 and can become a free agency.

To put it simply, the Jets have made a huge purchase with this. Reddick has 67 QB pressures and 11 sacks in the previous campaign. Over the last four seasons, he has recorded double-digit sack totals, with a career-high 16 in the NFL when he helped the Eagles win the Super Bowl two years ago.

Reddick (27.5) had less sacks than Myles Garret (30) and Nick Bosa (29) over the last two seasons.

Reddick is still in his peak and is an upgrade over Huff, despite being four years older. During the last two seasons, he has participated in 74% of Philadelphia’s defensive plays since he isn’t as vulnerable to the run as Huff is thought to be.

In 2023, Huff played only 42% of New York’s defensive snaps and virtually solely on passing downs.

Reddick is probably going to play less snaps since defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich and coach Robert Saleh rotate their defensive line a lot. However, that ought to make him more rested come late in the season and during games.

Given that Reddick is already a big-play machine, that is a frightening notion. In
