New Eagles running back Saquon Barkley joined Jason and Travis Kelce on their New Heights podcast and addressed Tiki Barber…

Absurd trade suggestions are starting to surface now that the peak of free agency has passed and the league’s attention is mostly on the impending draft.

The draft conversation is dominated by fictitious scenarios, the most recent and outlandish of which involves the Eagles and will include a trade of draft picks, if at all.

Owing to their offensive prowess, in particular, and the apparent friction resulting from certain remarks and actions made by wide receiver A.J. Brown, they are considering trading him to the Patriots on draft day for almost nothing.

During a live stream last week, Bleacher Report’s Jake Ellenbogen discussed the topic and drew up potential trade scenarios in which Brown might be transferred to another team in exchange for draft picks. The receiver the Eagles only acquired two years ago hasn’t shown any signs of desire in being traded, but the drama he’s been a part of since joining the team appears to be the foundation of the trade talks.

Though it’s not unprecedented to envision a top receiver in the NFL being traded, the return for such a guy should be commensurate, and this isn’t it.

It would be assumed that Brown would demand a first-round pick, or perhaps several firsts, if he were to be traded to any team. He’s remained one of the league’s top receivers, so maybe the Patriots shouldn’t have bothered to reply if they were to even offer this haul.

Ellenbogen believes that New England will select players in the second, third, and fourth rounds of the 2024 draft, mostly because they have a first-round pick that is so highly valued that it would be foolish to ship it off.
