The Maple Leafs Coach Sheldon Keefe calls out For contract Termination After costly…

The Maple Leafs upgraded their first line, acquiring Max Domi to join Tyler Bertuzzi and Auston Matthews. Bertuzzi gave Toronto a 1-0 lead just 1:04 into the game after slipping past the Devils’ defense and beating Jake Allen. Luke Hughes and Nico Hischier provided the Devils a 2-1 lead going into the first intermission, despite being greatly outshot in the first quarter. The second period’s first five or so minutes were really interesting. Timo Meier promptly answered Auston Matthews’ goal to tie the game at three after William Nylander and Matthews scored in rapid succession. Soon after Meier’s goal, Max Willman gave the Devils the lead again, and Jack Hughes added two more goals in the third frame to ensure the Devils’ 6-3 triumph. In the first two periods of play in Toronto, the Devils were not off to a good start.

Nylander scored fast in the middle frame to even the score at two goals apiece. Then, just over a minute later, Matthews scored his 59th goal of the season while still attempting to reach 60 goals. Granted, it’s all hindsight, but when Matthews appeared to be offside, he was receiving a stretch pass from defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin from Toronto’s end of the rink when he received the ball at the Devils’ blue line.

Jake Allen is aware that Tom Fitzgerald, the general manager, plans to add a goaltender this summer. We’re going to roll in a 1A/1B tandem with Allen. The 34-year-old goalie, nevertheless, is performing as though he wants to be the #1A. Allen provided the Devils with yet another outstanding start. At the end of Tuesday night, the Maple Leafs had 45 shots on goal. The Devils led 2-1 going into the first intermission after Allen, standing on his head, blocked 24 of the 25 shots that were attempted in the first period.
