Red Sox has Reportedly open up for signing of super star Janson Re-signing a $ 55.8 million deal of 3-year pending on…

The ownership of the Red Sox, one of the greatest markets in the game, has refused to spend money, which has caused supporters to endure a torturous offseason. Now, another problem has surfaced, making the season’s prospects even more absurd.

One of Boston’s biggest strengths in 2023 was the back end of its bullpen, which featured strong seasons from a couple of newcomers to the team in closer Kenley Jansen and setup man Chris Martin.

Ian Browne of MLB.com has reported that Jansen was once again scratched from today’s spring training game due to lower back pain, raising questions about the former’s immediate future.

In order to begin the season on the active roster and avoid a stint on the injured list, Browne stated that Jansen must perform well in the coming day or two. After signing a two-year, $32 million contract, Jansen had a strong first season in Boston, recording 29 saves with a 3.63 ERA, though his stats were inflated by blowing three saves in a two-week period, including back-to-back blown saves against the St. Louis Cardinals in mid-May.

Other than that stretch, Jansen only blew one other save the whole season.

The 36-year-old, four-time All-Star and former World Series champion is in his contract year. Following a career-worst ERA in 2018, he needs a strong season to land a huge contract elsewhere.

Martin, who is coming off of a fantastic 1.05 ERA season, would be the logical pick to step in as the closer if Jansen were forced to miss time.
