FORT MYERS, Fla. – Red Sox baseball manager Craig Breslow has been searching for weeks for promising Minor League starters to help fix the organization’s biggest weakness.On Saturday, Breslow accomplished that task when he traded right fielder John Schreiber to the Royals for hard-throwing David Sandlin.”So, we obviously talked to our amateur group and they had some background with [Sandlin], they had a history with him. I liked the stuff, I liked the makeup,
and we saw that things were pretty important. Step forward ,” Breslow said. “Also, when we make these trades, you have to understand that we’re trading a really talented pitcher there in Schreiber, and it was a tough — and it certainly wasn’t an easy decision. Schreiber said. “Before they asked me to resign, I was mentally in one of my in a darker place. They gave me a chance to rediscover myself and I tried to take advantage of it when I came here. They gave me the opportunity to succeed.
