Boston Celtics Signs In Three Incredible Players Worth $350m From….

The Boston Red Sox still appear to need to make a few moves, even though pitchers and catchers report to spring training in less than two weeks.

According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, the Los Angeles Angels and the Red Sox are reportedly considering bringing back veteran outfielder Adam Duvall.

However, by signing former New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Hicks to a one-year contract on Monday, the Angels were able to ensure outfield depth in a different manner. After more than seven seasons in pinstripes, the 34-year-old was let go by the Yankees in May of the previous season after a dismal start to the season. Hicks later became a fixture with the Orioles, appearing in 65 games while batting for Baltimore at the end of the 2023 campaign.253 with 36 RBIs, 6 stolen bases, and 8 home homers.

Los Angeles’ decision to turn to Hicks eases the pressure on the Red Sox to re-sign Duvall, even if the Angels were Boston’s main and presumably only rival.

The primary concern over Duvall is his health. After sustaining a wrist injury that kept him sidelined for two months last season, he had a disastrous start to the season, hitting.455 with four home runs and 14 RBIs in the team’s first eight games. After that, he was never the same hitter.

Four of the previous five seasons saw Duvall play in fewer than 100 games, and his age of 35 only raises questions about his longevity. Given their current outfield bottleneck, the Red Sox might use Duvall in a platoon role, which would be more fitting for him at this stage of his career.

The Red Sox may use two-time Gold Glove winner Tyler O’Neill, who Boston acquired from the St. Louis Cardinals this offseason, in either corner outfield position now that Jarren Duran is back to full health. Masataka Yoshida may replace him as the team’s full-time designated hitter, which would free up his left-field position. As a result, the Red Sox may give younger players Wiley Abreu or Ceddanne Rafaela more playing time this season. Rob Refsnyder is another player on the Red Sox’s roster, so they’ll need to get him some playing time in the outfield, particularly if a lefty is starting on the mound.
