Yellowstone National Park
An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, and officials had no additional information to provide as of Monday evening, Linda Veress, a spokesperson for Yellowstone National Park, told SFGATE.
“Traffic-related accidents are the most common cause of injury and death in the park,” Veress said in an email. She recommended that people visiting Yellowstone drive cautiously and follow the speed limit (45 mph unless posted otherwise), watch for animals, and prepare for longer-than-anticipated journeys due to winding roads and traffic. Drivers should use a pullout if they need to stop for any reason, remove detachable side mirrors if they’re not pulling trailers and look out for other road hazards such as potholes and frost heaves.
