LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A Louisville man scored large in the Kentucky Sweepstakes with a $50,000 monetary reward.
The unknown man paid the triumphant scratch-off ticket at the Thorntons on Shelbyville Street on Saturday, as indicated by a delivery.
“I’m a project worker, so in some cases individuals give me tips,” he said.
He told Kentucky Lottery authorities that when he gets additional cash, now and again he jumps at the chance to pay scratch-off tickets.
He at first purchased a $20 scratch-off and a $5 Scratch-off ticket, winning a sum of $205 on both of the tickets. He chose to take his risks and return in and purchase another ticket. The ticket he picked turned out to be the $50 Tycoon Club Scratch-off.
He scratched the ticket off at home, viewed as the “gold bar” image, and acknowledged he dominated the match’s $50,000 prize.
“My life partner was dozing, and I needed to wake her so terrible,” he said.
The man said he got up the following morning sooner than expected and made his espresso.
“I never get up that early,” he said. “(My life partner) came in and got out, ‘Whatever would you say you are doing? Something is going on.'” He told her she should make a few espresso too and afterward he let her in on he had won.
“She thought it was one of those trick tickets,” he told Kentucky Lottery authorities. “She actually doesn’t trust me.”
The man said his life partner messaged him as he advanced toward the Kentucky Lottery central command Monday evening, actually ready to be informed it was a trick. Nonetheless, the Louisville man returned home with a check for $36,000 after charges. He said he intends to do some house fixes and furthermore attempt to save the rest.
Thorntons is getting $500 for selling the triumphant ticket.
