Hurricanes against. Islanders: [Game #68 thread] Something’s got to change (again)

The New York Islanders play one of the top two teams in the Metro Division for the second straight night, and we fully anticipate being destroyed.

The Carolina Hurricanes, who are now four points behind the [redacted] Smurfs in the Metro with a 42-20-6 record, have won three straight games and are essentially on a two-month tear.

The Islanders have gone 0-3-1 since ending a six-game winning streak; they are currently outside of the wild card spots.

Throughout his four seasons with the Warriors, Jefferies has been a standout performer at Merrick College. In 2020, the Islanders selected him in the fourth round. Jefferies started his collegiate career in 2020 and finished 27th on the school’s all-time scoring list with 97 points (41 G, 56 A) across 105 games.

The 6’0″ and 195-pound winger Jefferies scored 13 goals in his senior year, one less than his career-high of 14 goals from the previous season, despite missing the first half of the campaign due to injury. In terms of points per game, he has placed 27th and 35th among all NCAA players during the past two seasons.

After Marrimack’s season ends, Jefferies will participate in an amateur tryout (ATO) with the Bridgeport Islanders before starting his ELC the next year. Players coming out of college who sign with an AHL team after their collegiate season usually receive an ATO. The Islanders have till August 15th to make their formal announcement.
