The Rutgers product missed most of the 2021 season with a torn pectoral, but came back just in time to be active for Super Bowl LVI against the Cincinnati Bengals. Although he was held off the stat sheet in that game, he still earned his ring as a key member of the Rams’ defense. That wound up being Joseph-Day’s final game in a Rams uniform, as during the following offseason, he signed a three-year, $24 million deal with the Los Angeles Chargers. He started all 30 games he played for the Chargers, but was cut in December after the team’s elimination from playoff contention. It didn’t take long to land on his feet, though, as he signed with the San Francisco 49ers just a few days later. He was a rotational player on the 49ers’ stacked defensive line, although he did help San Francisco make another Super Bowl appearance.
