While Tennessee has been pretty successful so far on the 2025 recruiting front, sometimes things don’t go your way. On Saturday night, Carrollton High School cornerback Shamar Arnoux announced his retirement from the Volunteers. Cornerback prospect from Arnoux, Georgia, Tennessee, is the first commitment in the 2025 class.
He is also a former teammate of Vols corners Dylan Lewis and Tyler Redmond. Arnoux visited Georgia on Saturday before announcing his commitment to the University of Tennessee. He visited with current high school teammate and USC quarterback Julian Lewis. The Volunteers continue to have a very successful class and still have several top defensive back options on the table.
The 2025 prospect posted a photo of his visit to Georgia on X with the caption visit struck a chord. and quot; The Volunteers had plenty of visitors on campus, including top targets like Cameron Sparks, Ethan Utley and more. It was unusual for a commitment to visit another school when their choice of school held an important recruitment event, such as a youth day.
