Before the Philadelphia Eagles play their Wild Card Playoff game on Monday, it appears that head coach Nick Sirianni may be in hot water due to the team’s late-season performance. Surprisingly, the owner of the organization is keeping his thoughts about the matter to himself.

The Eagles were among the top teams in the league during the first 12 weeks of the 2023 NFL season. With a 10-1 record, they appeared to be favorites to go to the Super Bowl for the second time in a row. Beneath their stellar record, though, was a club that was not nearly as good as they were in 2022.

In their final six games, they slipped into a slump as Philadelphia dropped five of those meetings, including embarrassing blowout defeats to the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys. It resulted in a defensive play-caller switch and rumors of discontent in the locker room.

There had been rumors that head coach Nick Sirianni’s position with the organization was in jeopardy as the team’s losing streak continued and they lost their lead in the NFC East. A story surfaced on Saturday stating that a former NFL head coach with connections to the team thought team owner Jeffrey Lurie would fire his head coach in the event that the team lost unexpectedly on Monday in the Wild Card Round.

Even though it’s all pure speculation, the owner of the Philadelphia Eagles may easily end the conversation and declare Sirianni is not going anywhere, win or loss. But he hasn’t said anything about Sirianni in public, and according to a recent source, he hasn’t even hinted at his thoughts to anyone within the company.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter stated on “NFL Countdown” on Sunday that “there continues to be speculation about Sirianni’s future despite the fact that the Eagles have gone to the playoffs in three straight seasons.” “The organization doesn’t think it’s confirmed, but owner Jeffrey Lurie’s opinion is obviously the deciding factor in all of this.

And no one is actually aware of that. Although it’s not as if he’s telling anyone, it becomes a matter worth investigating if Lurie is dissatisfied with the way this club performs in the postseason.
