Hawks star Dejounte Murray is tied for 4,444 by several Sixers rivals.

With the trade deadline less than a month away, there is another hot name on the market as the Atlanta Hawks are reportedly considering parting ways with Dejounte Murray. The one-time All Star’s time with the Hawks can currently be described as subpar at best. After developing into a rising star with the San Antonio Spurs during his first five NBA seasons, Murray was dealt to the Hawks in the offseason. Back then, the backcourt combination of Murray and Trae Young was expected to shake up the Eastern Conference. Murray had a solid rookie season with the Hawks, averaging 21 points, five rebounds and six assists in 74 games. However, he didn’t make the difference in the playoffs when the Hawks faced a lordly overhaul in the first round after crushing the seventh seed through the Play-Ins. In the midst of his second full season in Atlanta, there is a lot of smoke surrounding Murray. After a 15-22 start, sitting in 11th place in the Eastern Conference and currently out of the playoff picture, the Hawks are stuck making a big splash in a last-ditch effort to turn the season around. or headed for recycling or rebuilding. If Murray is reportedly available, teams will do their due diligence. The Philadelphia 76ers have been thrown out as a team that could talk to the Hawks about trading Murray, but their interest seems pretty low right now. Can the same be said of their direct competitors? A review of the recent trade database by Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer linked several Sixers candidates to Murray. Some notable names include the New York Knicks, Miami Heat, and Chicago BThe Knicks and Heat are usually in the market for any star that hits the block. However, it appears the Heat and Knicks won’t jump at the chance to add the Hawks guard. According to Fischer, the Knicks appear to be skeptical of Murray’s possible fit alongside Jalen Brunson. New York is afraid that Murray and Young are still looking for optimal ways to coexist on the court and is afraid of a similar situation. As for the Heat, there was “nothing of substance” in the negotiations between Miami and Atlanta. Although the Heat seem to be asking for it, they don’t seem to share the same aggressiveness to trade star guards not named Damian Lillard..ulls..
