Red Sox Rumors: Veteran Pitcher Joining Big League Roster

This weekend, at Mission Viejo High School in Southern California, the Under Armour Next Camp is back.

The 2025, 2026, and 2027 classes will have a ton of talented students in the camp.

Leading the quarterback group of 2025 pledges is San Diego (Calif.) Lincoln passer Akili Smith Jr., who will play for Oregon after following in his father’s footsteps.

Stanford commit and Utah promise Wyatt Becker, quarterback for Sierra Canyon in Chatsworth, California Bear Bachmeier from Murrieta, California; Daniel Gomez from Hanford, California, committed to Fresno State; Hughson, California, quarterback Robert McDaniel; and Michael Tollefson, committed to both Arizona State and Cal.

Top uncommitted 2025 passers include four-star Orange Lutheran quarterback TJ Lateef, quarterback Jackson Kollock of Laguna Hills, and quarterback Madden Iamaleava of Downey Warren.

Top 2026 passers to watch include Downey, California’s Oscar Rios, San Francisco, California’s Michael Mitchell Jr. of Archbishop Riordan, Brady Smigiel of Newbury Park, California, who is ranked 100th, Jaden O’Neal of Harbor City, California, and Brady Edmunds of Huntington Beach, California, who is projected to be the 2027 quarterback.

The running back group is led by the state’s best back in Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei’s Jordon Davison, a top ten back nationally while two of the top backs in Northern California, Stockton (Calif.) Lincoln’s Jordin Thomas and Danville (Calif.) Monte Vista’s Julian McMahan will also be on hand, one of Central California’s best in Hanford (Calif.) back Kourdey Glass along with Cal pledge Jojo Solis from San Bernardino (Calif.) Aquinas and Long Beach (Calif.) Millikan’s Anthony League.  Underclassmen of note include Los Angeles (Calif.) Loyola’s Sean Morris and Valencia (Calif.) back Brian Bonner.
