Raiders find Josh Jacobs replacement $90 million deal with Alexander Mattison…

Josh Jacobs bid farewell to the Nevada desert after four seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders and signed a contract with the Green Bay Packers. But it appears that Las Vegas has already located a substitute. According to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report, Alexander Mattison, a former running back for the Minnesota Vikings, is supposedly signing with the Raiders.

Mattison was a member of the Vikings for five years prior to his choice to join Antonio Pierce and company. Dalvin Cook, who was Minnesota’s starter at the moment, was cut from the team during the 2023 offseason. Mattison now has the chance to start for the Vikings as their primary RB1.

Mattison completed 180 rushes for 700 yards in 16 games. In 30 catches, he also contributed 192 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The 25-year-old scored 17 touchdowns (six receiving, 11 rushing) and amassed 2,370 rushing yards during his time with the Vikings.

Ameer Abdullah and Zamir White make up the Raiders’ backfield, which now includes Alexander Mattison. Based on the statistics, Mattison would probably start, although he and White might face off for the team’s number-one place. It’s difficult to replace someone like Josh Jacobs, but both are now the Raiders’ best choices.

However, the group has also been doing other actions. Gardner Minshew, the quarterback, might make another quarterback competition possible. Throughout his career, Minshew has primarily served as a backup, but he has proven he can step up when needed. In September, it will be intriguing to observe who will be leading the Raiders, especially because Aidan O’Connell had a strong season as well.
