F1 great Damon Hill thinks that Max Verstappen is “causing a difficult problem” for Red Bull…

One former F1 veteran believes that Max Verstappen’s continuing dominance in the first two races of the season could be a cause for cautious concern.

The defending champion has dominated the first two rounds of the competition, winning both Bahrain and Saudi Arabia to prove that he is unstoppable in his quest to hold the title.

In fact, Red Bull has won the first two races of 2024 in a row. However, despite their early domination, former Formula One champion Damon Hill thinks this poses a challenge for the team.

Hill is concerned that Red Bull may lose incentive to increase performance since they won’t have to worry about those small gains if they have such dominant form against teams like Ferrari and McLaren.

“The team feels great, and it’s nice to start the season and Constructors’ Championship with a one-two,” he said to F1 Nation. The only thing that will motivate them is the knowledge that they will be caught, and if they are looking over their shoulder and can’t see anyone who will catch them, then they can almost go on vacation. In contrast, when you lose, you kind of… I know that they will still be trying very hard to find improvements and gains because they will have to, but at the same time, where’s the motivation?
