Kalen DeBoer Does Not Retain Long-Term Alabama Employees

The coaching staff isn’t the only thing changing since Nick Saban retired and Kalen DeBoer was hired in his place.

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama: With Nick Saban’s departure, the Alabama football program is entering a new era, and there are some significant changes happening that go beyond the coaching staff.Under the direction of new head coach Kalen DeBoer, longtime employees Jonathan King, creative director, and assistant director of player development Evan Van Nostrand are among those not retained.King, who has been Alabama football’s creative director for the past seven years, was instrumental in establishing the program’s visual and creative elements. Under his direction, Alabama football adopted a unique look that has come to be associated with the team’s success.God is doing a good thing, but abrupt endings can bring a lot of fear and confusion,” King stated. “If He has something more exciting than Alabama Football lined up, I can’t imagine the adventures to come!”Van Nostrand is a distinguished veteran who joined Alabama in 2016 as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. He has been the assistant director of player development since 2019.
