The wife of Jordan Poyer explains why former Bills safety signed $44 million with the Dolphins…

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, veteran safety Jordan Poyer is choosing to sign with the AFC East rival Miami Dolphins after being dismissed by the Buffalo Bills before to NFL free agency.

After the initial story on March 12th in the evening, ESPN Dolphins beat writer Marcel Louis-Jacques quickly provided the deal specifics. According to the article, Jordan Poyer, a former first-team All-Pro whose career earnings come up just short of $44 million, has a one-year, $2 million agreement with the Dolphins.

Following their agreement, Poyer’s spouse Rachel Bush posted a message on Instagram featuring their daughter Aliyah next to Miami’s mascot, “T.D.” For fans of the Dolphins, FinsXtra shared the message on X.

She said in the photo’s caption, “Aliyah had only one place she wanted daddy to sign. Guess where?” “We’re home!!” exclaimed Bush in a second text bubble.

The defensive back, speaking with NFL reporter Cameron Wolfe, also repeated his wife’s remarks. “I’m returning home!” He restated. “During the off-season, I live about 25 minutes away from there.” It feels like I’m returning home because I’ve wanted to visit Florida for a very long time. It seems appropriate, and I have a great deal of respect for coach [Mike] McDaniel and his group. I believe I’ll fit in perfectly.

Whether it’s because his family resides there in the off-season or because his daughter Aliyah asked to play for the Dolphins, Poyer has been dropping some pretty strong hints that he would be open to joining them. When asked about wanting to “play somewhere warm” with better tax benefits during an NFL combine interview (which was posted by a user going by the name “Tili” on X), Poyer responded with a smile and a laugh.
