Raiders Sign Christian Wilkins, a defensive tackle, to a four-year, $110 million deal…

The Las Vegas Raiders were hoping to make a big impression during the start of the free agency period in order to improve their chances of making the playoffs after missing them the previous two seasons. The inside of the defensive line was one area they wanted to strengthen, and Christian Wilkins is among the best alternatives available to do that.

With the Miami Dolphins, Wilkins had a fantastic season in which he recorded 65 total tackles, nine sacks, 23 quarterback hits, and ten tackles for loss. The Raiders were prepared to spend a huge sum of money, but it was anticipated that he and the Dolphins wouldn’t be able to reach an agreement on a new contract. The Raiders and Wilkins have reached an agreement on a four-year contract worth $110 million, with approximately $85 million guaranteed, according to Ian Rapaport of NFL Network.

For the Raiders, who need wanted to provide Maxx Crosby with some support along the way, the move makes complete sense. Wilkins, who hasn’t missed a game in the previous three seasons, was the defensive tackle with the most snaps. The Raiders may have one of the best lineman duos in the league if he can apply pressure from the interior, which will only further free up Crosby.
