A facial expression can sometimes perfectly sum up a person’s emotions, and that’s what happened to Las Vegas Raiders All-Pro quarterback Maxx Crosby at the 2024 Super Bowl. A video circulating on social media shows Crosby’s reaction during the Kansas City Chiefs overtime win over the San Francisco 49ers.

As people around Crosby freaked out over Mahomo’s game-winning touchdown pass to receiver Mecole Hardman, Crosby showed no emotion. That’s probably because he wasn’t thrilled to beat his division rival for a second straight championship when it was won at Allegiant Stadium, home of the Raiders.

Despite the viral backlash, Crosby said before the Super Bowl that he wanted Kansas City to win the Super Bowl. But not for any reason you might expect. “Selfishly, I want the Chiefs to win so we can be the ones to take them down and knock them off the pedestal,” Crosby said Feb. 7 on NFL Network.

Since Crosby entered the NFL, the Raiders are 2-8 against the Chiefs. So it’s understandable why he’s trying to beat them, despite their last game resulting in a Las Vegas win on Christmas Day. Crosby knows Las Vegas needs a win against Kansas City if the Raiders want to be taken seriously in the AFC West.
