Last weekend, Tennessee hosted a host of talented prospects on campus for their Junior Day event. One of the participants was Bearden High School forward Takla Brody Smith. He lists offers from Colorado, Miami, Ole Miss, Penn State, Tennessee and others. The local product spoke to Volunteer State after the visit to share his experience. andquot;It went very well. I really liked the facilities and the hospitality and it’s definitely one of the best schools I’ve seen, andquot; lineman Bearden announced. He was excited to meet some of the players who attended the college, including the current commitment. andquot;I talked to Justin Baker, who was a runner there;
he is a really nice guy and i would like to stop him. I also talked to Austin Lewis who played there last year.andquot; As an offensive lineman, Smith spent most of his time working with offensive line coach Glen Elarbee. andquot;I was with coach Elarbee the most and it went great. He asked me about the road and we were able to talk a bit. What he told me was that they bring players into the league, they have a top program and it’s a UT family.andquot;More: http.Smith was impressed with how Tennessee runs its program. Head coach Josh Heupel has worked to create a family-oriented environment, and Smith has noticed. andquot;It really is a family like no other and a lot of fun to be around.andquot;
He assures Volunteer Country that he wants to visit again and that Tennessee is in good shape, as he says, quote: They’re definitely one of the top schools on my list. I will definitely come back to visit.andquot; He thinks their offensive scheme fits and relies on the balanced rushing attack the Volies are known for. andquot;They are 50/50 in the run and pass game, and I really like that because it gives me a chance to show all my skills.andquot;.
