Tennessee hosts many high-profile athletes for one of its annual Junior Day events. The event had prospects from various regions and dedicated people who had already bought into the program. One of the visiting players was Elgin High School offensive lineman Antoni Kade Ogumoro. After his visit, he took the time to share it with the Volunteer State. andquot;Overall, my visit was wonderful. My brother who is on the spectrum had a great time and that’s saying a lot. In some places people don’t hesitate to take the time to help and accommodate my little brother, but here in Tennessee it was different. When asked if he could talk to some engagements, he replied and quoted:
I talked to a lot of guys there. I met some early 2024 students who were already engaged and could relate to them and pick their brains when they got older and had already gone through the same process and are doing it now. andquot; He was then asked which coaches he had a chance to talk to and he said, “I was with coach [Josh] Heupel and coach [Glen] Elarbee for almost the entire visit. Same with Coach James and Coach KP. I need to build our relationship even more.
It was nice to see these guys in person, sit down and talk not only about football, but also about life. For me, the speech was about family. Everyone there supports each other and I feel like you need that – not just a winning program, but an environment where you want to stay. The staff and the atmosphere alone were amazing from the moment I walked into the facility.andquot;.When asked what stood out to him most during his visit to Tennessee,
Antoni replied with a smile: They definitely helped my brother. It meant a lot to me and my family. They could have done better things with their time during this visit to help others, but they chose to help me and my family.andquot; He thinks he would be pretty good in Tennessee’s system, he says, and said their offensive style really fits the way I play as an offensive lineman. Pulling and being able to apply that footwork really sets the tone for the game.” He also confirms that Tennessee is a top school and plans to visit again, saying “100%.” Tennessee is definitely a top school. I will visit again; I just have to figure out the dates.andquot;.
