Leeds United loanee Leo Hjelde believes the Sunderland squad is just as talented as his former teams, despite being a few points adrift in the league table.The defender moved to Wearside in the final week of the January transfer window after two-and-a-half years at United. The Norwegian made just one appearance in the Championship under Daniel Farke in the first half of this season and opted to leave Elland Road to find more consistent game time.Hjelde achieved that result at the weekend when he made his debut in his first game since signing for Michael Beale’s side.

He impressed in Sunderland’s 1-1 draw with local rivals Middlesbrough. “If you look at the Sunderland team compared to the Leeds team, I don’t think there is a difference in quality.
