1 dead, 2 others taken to hospital in fatal Tuscaloosa County crash

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – One woman has died and two others are in the hospital following a crash in Tuscaloosa County Saturday, Nov. 23.

 

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, 81-year-old Frederick Kornegay, of Childersburg, was driving on Alabama 171 with 80-year-old Barbara Kornegay, of Childersburg, and 87-year-old Anne N. Churchwell, of Sylacauga, around 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon when their car was hit head-on by a truck.

Frederick and the passenger were taken to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Sadly, Kornegay was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

At this time, there is no word on the condition of the truck driver.
