Elite Express Track and Field throwers coach James McLean said the club sponsored Williams.

“We wanted to make him a more well-rounded young man, unfortunately, we’ve lost that opportunity,” McLean said.

Williams was in the backseat with Jackson, both played football at Smithfield-Selma High School. They also played at JoCo Arsenal Athletic Association. Chris Williams coached them and is the president of the association and shared the following statement with CBS 17.

“They were both very bright young men loved by their peers and anyone who had the pleasure of being part of their lives. They were both very gifted athletically both on the track and on the football field. This is a tremendous loss to our community our prayers go out to their family and their loved ones. And they will forever be missed.”

Four losses that McLean hopes can lead to conversations with teens.
