Millar starts: Hull City team news and predicted XI to face Cardiff City

Hull City are back in Championship action this weekend with a home clash against Cardiff City.

Hull City head into their upcoming game on the back of their 3-1 away win at Stoke City last time out. That was their first victory of the season.

Tim Walter will hope that his side can pick up some momentum now and start climbing up the table. They are currently sat in 16th position.

The Tigers have brought in 18 new faces since the end of the last campaign and it has taken a while for their players to gel together. They snapped up the likes of Liam Millar, Kasey Palmer, Oscar Zambrano and Carl Rushworth, among many others, to bolster their ranks.

Their upcoming opponents are without a permanent manager after sacking Erol Bulut last weekend and they have a big decision to make on who to bring in as their new manager.

Hull City team news

As per HullLive reporter Barry Cooper on X, Palmer is a doubt and will be assessed but Abdulkadir Omur and Zambrano are expected to be fit.

Charlie Hughes, Andy Smith, Dogukan Sinik and Ryan Longman remain sidelined, as per HullLive.

Starting XI

Pandur; Coyle, Jones, McLoughlin, Drameh; Zambrano, Mehlem, Slater; Belloumi, Bedia, Millar.

Walter has stuck with Ivor Pandur in goal over recent games, despite the arrival of highly-rated Brighton and Hove Albion stopper Carl Rushworth on deadline day last month.

Skipper Lewie Coyle has been impressive so far this term and will start along with centre-back partners Alfie Jones and Sean McLoughlin.

Hull City have a decision to make at left-back between Cody Drameh and Ryan Giles. It would be a surprise to see them fiddle with a winning team from last week.

Zambrano is likely to get the nod if he is fully fit in the middle of the park along with Marvin Mehlem and potentially Regan Slater. The latter scored against Stoke City.

Going forward, Millar will be looking to cause problems for Cardiff City on the left-wing. Chris Bedia and Mohamed Belloumi are both searching for their first goal.
