The 1-2 Indianapolis Colts host the 3-0 Pittsburgh Steelers at Lucas Oil Stadium for their fourth regular season game of the 2024 season. The Colts are coming off a solid 21-16 win over Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears. Despite allowing 332 passing yards and 33 completions, the defense intercepted Williams twice.

However, the Colts secondary will be shorthanded against the Steelers. Their best defensive back exited the last game with an injury.

Kenny Moore II exited in their third to last snap of their final defensive drive with an apparent hip injury. He did not return for their final two defensive snaps. Shane Steichen didn’t provide any injury updates on Moore after the game. The Colts had to wait until practice to see if he’ll miss time.
He will not play
Kenny Moore II did not participate in Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday’s practice. The Colts released their final injury report on Friday and have already ruled a few players out. They ruled out two key defensive contributors, including Moore. He will miss the first game of the 2024 season, a major blow to an already thin secondary.
Who will start in the slot?
Backup slot cornerback Chris Lammons popped up on the injury report this week with a knee and ankle injury. He did not participate in Wednesday or Thursday’s practice but returned on Friday and is questionable. If he is healthy, he will start.
If Lammons cannot play, Samuel Womack III could get the nod in the slot. Womack has split reps with Dallis Flowers on the outside this season but has experience in the slot.
Their starting cornerback tandem for Week 4 could include Dallis Flowers, Jaylon Jones, and Chris Lammons/Samuel Womack III. Justin Fields and the Steelers’ receiving corps should have a field day against their thin secondary.
