News now:Tragedy Strikes Bull Rider dead bodies found… Police say

WELLINGTON, Kan. (WIBW) – A motorcycle rider suffered serious injuries in a rear-end collision Sunday afternoon in Sumner County in south-central Kansas, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 2:20 p.m. Sunday on eastbound US-160 highway just east of Oliver Road. The location was about 6 miles east of Wellington.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2002 Chevrolet Impala was traveling US-160 when for an unknown reason it struck the rear of a 1999 Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle.

The motorcycle’s rider, Shannon Skinner, 44, of Haysville, was transported to Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita with serious injuries. The patrol said Skinner was wearing a helmet.

A passenger on the motorcycle, Kimberly Davidson, 39, of Anthony, also was taken to Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries. The patrol said Davidson was wearing her helmet.

The driver of the Chevrolet, Allision Leedy, 64, of Ponca City, Okla., was transported to William Newton Hospital in Winfield for treatment of suspected minor injuries. The patrol said Leedy was wearing her seat belt.
