Leicester City Agree To Sign A Contract Worth $2.5m With….

Due to a number of unresolved concerns, Leicester City and Inter are still in negotiations for Stefano Sensi.

There is still work to be done, but the midfielder, who started last night’s Serie A match against Fiorentina on the bench, is not ready to fly out today for his medical.

One of the sticking points, according to Calciomercato.com, is that Inter has to get €3 million from the sale in order to balance the books; if not, Sensi’s departure will cost them money overall.

His current contract only lasts until the conclusion of the current season, and he was acquired from Sassuolo for a total of €27.2 million. He was first loaned to the team in 2019 with an option to buy.

Provided that there is a buy-in clause, a player with an expiring contract may theoretically still go out on loan.

It appears that Leicester City wants this to be a €500,000 loan for six months, with an option to buy for an additional €2.5 million should they get promoted to the Premier League.

Given that his Inter contract expires on June 30 and the EFL Championship Play-Off Final is scheduled for May 26, it is theoretically possible.

They might also agree to a €0.5 million sale with bonuses of €2.5 million in exchange for moving up to the Premier League.

There is still time before England’s transfer deadline of February 1 at 11 p.m.
