DEAL DONE: Leeds Star Player Has Agreed To Sign A Contract With Maximum Deal Of $160m For…..

According to The Sun, Leeds United have made a formal loan offer for Everton defender Ben Godfrey after a deal with Atalanta fell through in January. The newspaper announces on its website [28. January] that the 26-year-old’s £10m move to Serie A fell through due to the removal of favorable tax rules in Italy. It is understood the Toffees and Sean Dyche have given Godfrey the green light to leave Goodison Park this month as the club look to avoid further sanctions from the Premier League under FFP rules..Godfrey’s move to Leeds looks well and truly done, giving Daniel Farke another defensive option alongside Joe Rodon, Pascal Struijk and Liam Cooper. But it could be curtains at Elland Road for current defender Charlie Cresswell, who was in the matchday squad against Plymouth for only the second time since November..While Godfrey is understandably frustrated at his lack of game time under Dyche, the centre-back is unlikely to make it to Elland Road again given Ethan Ampadu’s recent efforts in the position..With just one centre-back in the squad in recent weeks, Farke has opted for the Welshman in defense and sacrificed his midfield presence ahead of Cresswell. There are obviously other factors for Cresswell not playing, but it still shows Farke’s stubbornness to keep the same players in this starting line-up.For Godfrey to be back in the team though, he is a welcome addition to the Leeds squad, especially given the very busy schedule. He may lack match sharpness but his talent is still there and his performance against Burnley in the Premier League in December proved that.In other Leeds United news, the club is in negotiations to sign a new contract..
