Hull City- Manager Tim Walter shares what he noticed about Leeds United under Daniel Farke

Hull City manager Tim Walter was left “really frustrated” with his side’s 2-0 defeat to Leeds United on Saturday afternoon at Elland Road, despite Leeds dominating much of the game.

With the transfer window slamming shut a little over 12 hours prior to Leeds‘ fourth Championship outing of the season. Goals from Mateo Joseph and Joel Piroe proved enough for Leeds to secure a 2-0 win.

A result that sees Leeds pick up a third consecutive clean sheet and remain unbeaten in the league, with eight points secured from the first four league games. A solid return, after the loss of many key players.

Leeds dominated much of the match and even had a goal disallowed in the first half before new signing Manor Solomon went past a couple of Hull players before providing a perfect cross for Joseph to score.

Hull manager Walter explains why is frustrated with defeat

With debuts for three new signings Solomon, Ao Tanaka and Largie Ramazani all coming at Elland Road in the win, it was a more familiar duo that created Leeds’ second. Junior Firpo played in Joel Piroe to score.

While the stats suggest Leeds did not dominate possession, or even shots – Leeds boasting 17 and Hull having 9 – Illan Meslier was rarely tested. The Leeds defence looked in control but Walter was frustrated.

Speaking to Hull Daily Mail, Walter also compared his Hull side to Leeds under Farke’s guidance after a year as boss: “At the end, you are losing over here two nil and you are frustrated. Leeds are a good team.

“They are much further along than we are in their philosophy because the coach has been there longer, but in the end, it’s not necessary to lose over here and that’s the reason why I’m really frustrated.”

What Ethan Ampadu made three Leeds debutants do at full-time

A comprehensive, commanding victory for Leeds then against a decent Hull side that will be hoping to push for the play-offs after missing out by the narrowest of margins last season, under Liam Rosenior.

With Tanaka, Solomon and Ramazani all playing, captain Ampadu pushed all three in front of the Leeds fans to three cheers, one at a time. All three finished with a big beaming smile on their face, fans happy.

A harmonious atmosphere at Elland Road with Leeds getting the job done in the transfer window on deadline day, while also picking up three points. Whether that continues after the break, who knows.
