May, who has scored 43 league goals in his last two seasons with Cheltenham Town and Charlton Athletic, is just 4/1 to top the charts with his new club Birmingham City.
May, 31, was hunted by a number of clubs but decided on St Andrews and when asked why, he told the club’s YouTube channel: “It’s how big the club is. After speaking to the manager, it sounds like a journey you want to be part of.
“The club shouldn’t be in League One and I want to get us promoted.
“I’ve got more years to play and more goals to come and hopefully I can hit the ground running.”

Despite missing the start of the season through injury, Wrexham’s Paul Mullin is third favourite at odds of 14/1.
Mullin fired home 26 goals on Wrexham’s return to the Football League last season despite missing the first six games of the season after suffering broken ribs and a punctured lung.
Fans favourite Mullin has now scored more than 100 league and cup goals since joining the Reds from Cambridge United three years ago.
Ollie Palmer (40/1) and Elliot Lee (50/1) are two more Wrexham players to make the top 30 Bet365 odds list while another, Jack Marriott, is priced at 80/1 to finish as the league’s top marksman.
Jonson Clarke-Harris – yet another striker who faced speculation linking him with a move from Peterborough United – ended up signing for relegated Rotherham United.
He is second on the list at 12/1, while Bolton Wanderers’ Dion Charles is 16/1 and new Peterborough signing Chris Conn-Clarke, who bagged 23 goals for Altrincham last season, is a 20/1 shot alongside Bristol Rovers’ 35-year-old hitman Chris Martin.
Jordan Rhodes has more than 200 league goals to his name and you wouldn’t bet against his bagging another 20 for Blackpool this season.
He is one of five strikers priced at 25/1.
The others are: Matt Godden (Charlton); Sam Smith (Reading); Aaron Collins (Bolton); Isaac Olaofe (Stockport).
Former Connah’s Quay Nomads winger Rhys Healey, who has moved to Huddersfield Town, is 28/1 while ex-Wrexham play-maker Davis Keillor-Dunn (Mansfield Town) is one of six players at 33/1.
The Stags star man scored 22 goals in last season’s promotion campaign and also added 10 assists for Nigel Clough’s side.
The others are: Sam Hoskins (Northampton); Jamie Reid (Stevenage); Victor Adeboyejo (Bolton); Chuks Aneke (Charlton); Ricky Jade-Jones (Peterborough).
