Stephen Curry Reminded Of Celtics Fans Heading Into Gold Medal Game

Curry is preparing for a raucous environment, which he knows well from playing in Boston

Celtics Hit The Court For Pre-Parade Press Conference

Before the Celtics parade festivities began, the NBA champs hit the court this morning to discuss their big win.

Team USA guard and NBA superstar Stephen Curry knows a thing or two about silencing opposing crowds.

He’ll look to do that again, but this time on the Olympic stage.

Team USA surely will be in a raucous environment Saturday when it takes on France in the gold medal game. France will have the advantage of playing in front of its countrymen, but Curry isn’t too worried about that.

“I bet you all 12 of us can find one game where we went into a hostile environment, whether it’s Bron coming into our place in 2016, or us going to Boston,” Curry told reporters following Thursday’s semifinal win over Serbia, per The Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach.

Curry and the Golden State Warriors didn’t have much trouble on the famed parquet of the Boston Celtics in the 2022 NBA Finals. The Warriors went 2-1 at TD Garden in the series, including closing out the Celtics to clinch the NBA title with a Game 6 road victory. It was just the second time in their storied history the Celtics watched an opposing team celebrate a championship on their home floor.

That experience should aid Curry, who had his Olympic moment in a narrow 95-91 win over the Nikola Jokic-led Serbia squad — Celtics star Jayson Tatum didn’t even play in the contest. Curry erupted for a game-high 36 points, including knocking down nine 3-pointers, and grabbed eight rebounds in the victory.
