GOODISON NEWS:Everton takeover close to completion as- Dan Friedkin’ set for a cash injection…

Bryan King claims Dan Friedkin’s Everton takeover at Goodison Park is close to completion.

The ex-Goodison scout believes the Toffees’ recent activity in the transfer market suggests the club are set for a cash injection shortly.

As reported by The Times journalist Paul Joyce on Tuesday (9 July), Everton turned down an offer worth £50million from Manchester United for Jarrad Branthwaite.

And King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – feels this bid would’ve been accepted if a takeover wasn’t close to completion.

“This must mean that the takeover is close to completion,” King said.

If a takeover wasn’t close to completion, and there was no money coming into the club, then I think they would have accepted a £50million offer for Branthwaite.

“It implies that they are expecting money to come into the club soon, and that will likely be from a takeover at Goodison Park.”

Are Dan Friedkin and the Friedkin Group close to completing their takeover of Everton?
The Toffees’ summer has gone much better than a lot of supporters were likely expecting it

Fire sales and big-name exits were the talk of the town at Goodison Park in May. However, so far, it has been quite the opposite for the club.

None of their high-profile players have been sold yet, while they have made several exciting additions to Sean Dyche’s squad.

This perhaps implies that the Toffees expect their financial situation to be sorted imminently.

As a result, supporters will be delighted, as everybody connected with the club will be desperate for a takeover to go through sooner rather than later.

In other Everton news, the club have made an offer to sign a free agent.

Bryan King does not believe Davinson Sánchez is good enough for Everton.

The ex-Goodison scout claims the defender’s previous spell in the Premier League indicates that Everton should avoid signing him.

According to a report from Sporx (10 July), Sanchez is interested in a move to Goodison Park, with Galatasaray making the 28-year-old available for £21.1million.

However, King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – has advised the Toffees against making a move.

“I’m not convinced by Sanchez,” King said.

“He has been playing in Turkey with Galatasaray, and I don’t think the pressure or level is as great there as it is in the Premier League.“He also struggled previously at Tottenham, so I don’t think he is the right man to be targeting.”

Will Everton sign Davinson Sánchez from Galatsaray?

Sánchez demonstrated plenty of potential when he first arrived in England as a young player, but he quickly saw his form decline while playing in North London with Tottenham.

As a result, bringing him back to the Premier League where he struggled previously might not be such a good idea.

Of course, different environments can bring out different sides of a player, and the Colombian might be more suited to life at Goodison Park.

However, it would still be a big gamble.

Everton have also been linked with Olympique Lyonnais defender Jake O’Brien, with the 23-year-old available for £30million (via Alan Nixon’s Patreon, 7 July).
