New contract with Leeds United agreed to “in principle by Wilfried Gnonto….

Ever since the Yorkshire team’s relegation back to the Championship was announced at the end of the previous season, there has been much speculation about the Italian winger’s future at Elland Road.

And regardless of how unclear his future has been at Elland Road, the winger has accepted in principle to a new contract, according to HITC’s Graeme Bailey.

Although the Italy international’s current contract expires in the summer of 2027, Daniel Farke’s team would undoubtedly benefit greatly from a formal extension as they aim to gain immediate promotion back to the Premier League.Worth around £14 million (TM), Gnonto has made 51 appearances in all competitions in his first 18 months in Yorkshire, tallying five goals and five assists.

Ryan Giles appears to be out of reach for Leeds United as sources indicate Hull City is ‘in talks’ to sign the full-back from Luton Town. Links have been abundant during the first three weeks of the window, and the Whites are understood to be in the market for defensive reinforcements this month. Giles has been one of them; he has restricted minutes at Kenilworth Road but is free to leave Luton

Although other Championship clubs are keeping an eye on the 23-year-old, The Daily Mail has identified Hull as the front-runners. The negotiations to loan the left-back to Liam Rosenior’s team for their play-off drive between now and May are reportedly moving along.
