Here’s what you missed in episode 6 of Hard Knocks with the Dolphins

The sixth episode of HBO’s “Hard Knocks: In Season with the Miami Dolphins” premiered Tuesday night and focuses on the team’s preparation for their home opener against the Dallas Cowboys. Here are the highlights of the episode.

Last week, coach Mike McDaniel joked to reporters that he told his players to tell all members of the media “with all due respect, stay away” when asked about anything other than the Dallas Cowboys. The opening scene of the episode shows McDaniel addressing his players in a team meeting and telling them to do just that.

Equipment manager Joe Cimino gives an overview of how the equipment staff made the team’s backpack jerseys for the Cowboys game. Cimino, who is in his 30th season with the team, tells his story of growing up a Dolphins fan and working for his hometown team during the Shula days

Last week, running back Raheem Mostert told reporters he was returning to his hometown of New Smyrna Beach with his brother Eugene Blackwell after breaking the Dolphins’ franchise record for most touchdowns in a season. Cameras record how the brothers remember their hometown and organize a holiday game on behalf of the foundation.

Also highlighted are the philanthropic efforts of left tackle Terron Armstead, linebacker Jerome Baker and cornerback Xavien Howard.

One feature is with cornerback Kader Kohou and his family, who came from the Dallas area to see him play in the NFL for the first time in his career. Last season, the Miami Herald profiled Kohou and his journey from Ivory Coast and then Division II Texas A&M-Commerce to the Dolphins as an undrafted rookie. ▪ Christmas gifts were exchanged in the group.

One of the most notable exchanges took place in the quarterback room, where Dolphins great Dan Marino gave away Isotoner gloves to the delight of all the quarterbacks. Marino was notably a glove thrower of the 90s.
