ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Asheville police confirm one person has died after a fatal crash on Riverside Drive occurred on Monday, Jan. 20, 2020.
Officials said at approximately5:14 p.m. police responded to reports of a crash onRiverside Drive near the intersection of Hill Street in Asheville.
A vehicle traveling north on Riverside Drive crossed into the path of oncoming traffic and struck a second vehicle, operated by Guido Ernst Roth, 62, of Asheville, according to authorities.
Roth was transported to Mission Hospital and later succumbed to his injuries.
Asheville Fire Department reported around 5:54 p.m. on Jan. 20, thatmultiple subjects were trapped at 410 Riverside.
