Charlotte County deputies are currently investigating a death at Grapefruit Lane in Punta Gorda early Sunday morning.
An 18-year-old is dead after being shot along Grapefruit Lane on Saturday night, in what deputies say was self-defense.
Just before 11 p.m., Charlotte County deputies responded to a home in Punta Gorda regarding someone who had been shot.
The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office says a girl, 17, and a man, 18, invited a 17-year-old boy over to rob him.
The sheriff’s office said when a gun was pulled on the boy, he pulled out his own and fired before fleeing the scene.
Deputies say it appears to be self-defense.
CCSO found the teen and detained him. The sheriff’s office says this is an active investigation.
Deputies have located a missing 11-year-old boy who had been missing since Sunday.
On Tuesday night, just before 10:45 p.m., the Lee County Sheriffs Office announced that Pedro had been located and is now safe at home.
According to authorities, Pedro Simon Luis was last seen on Sunday night leaving his home on Fairfax Drive, off of Palm Beach Boulevard in Tice, to go see a friend, but he never returned.
WINK News crews went to the scene on Tuesday and did not see any deputies searching.
