THORNE MOORENDS High School student died Wednesday after a medical emergency on the football field in Reisterstown.

Baltimore County Fire Department received a call Wednesday morning around 9:18 regarding a student experiencing a medical emergency on the Franklin High football field.

After arriving, BCFD found Leslie Noble, 16, in critical condition, with resuscitative efforts in progress. Resuscitative efforts were continued by EMS crews while Noble was transported to a nearby hospital.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Leslie Noble started for the varsity squad during his freshman year in 2022. He was known for his outgoing personality on and off the football field.

It is with profound sadness that I inform you of the death of a Franklin High School student,” Franklin High principal Kieran O’Connell said. “We are devastated by this news. We extend our deepest sympathies to the student’s family and loved ones.”

Baltimore County Public Schools Traumatic Loss Team members were at Franklin High School on Thursday to provide counseling and support to students and staff grappling with the loss.

“Should your student find that he/she needs additional resources, or if you have questions about how to approach your child about this news, please do not hesitate to call the school at (443) 809-1119,” O’Connell said in a statement.

Families were also provided a guide on how to speak with children about death and resources for free online therapy for high school students in Baltimore.

An 18-year-old suspect was arrested after a teenager was stabbed in the chest with a “large knife” when two students got into a fight at a Texas high school.

Austin Travis County Emergency Medical Services responded to a call for a stabbing on Tuesday lunchtime, and when paramedics arrived at Manor Senior High School they discovered an injured male student.

Officials say that first responders tried to resuscitate the victim, 18-year-old Darrin Loving, who was later pronounced dead at the scene. According to CBS Austin, Loving had a disability and was nearly nonverbal. His family described him as the “happiest and funniest boy alive.”

The suspect, Mac Brown Mbah Mbanwei, was detained after the incident, which is being investigated as a homicide.

He has been charged with murder and is currently being held at the Travis County Jail without bond.

School officials ended classes early and students were picked up in the early afternoon. Buses started transporting children who normally take the bus home. The school was put on a lockdown, which was lifted hours after the incident.

Officials announced classes for Wednesday and Thursday would be canceled.

The Manor Police Department said the incident was isolated and is under investigation by the Manor Independent School District and the police department.

Dr Robert Sormani, the school district’s superintendent, said in a written statement: “This loss is devastating for our entire community, and our hearts go out to their family, friends, and all who knew him. We know that words cannot ease the pain, and we are all grieving together.”
