The placement of cars for sale on the State’s right-of-way has caused problems in the past, Chief of Police Richard Catlett told 6 News, with the majority of these incidents occurring around the city’s two annual major auto events.

“Some people try to sell their cars by bringing several of them and parking them along the Parkway. “The State made it clear that they didn’t want any advertisements or cars for sale on the right-of-way when the City was re-signing the lease agreement,” Catlett added.

The parking is reserved for cars without trailers, he continued, and they are trying to spread the news in advance of the Rod Run auto exhibition, which is scheduled for September 12–14.
