The incident happened at around 11.35am on Monday, December 23.A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “A white Mazda MX-5 was travelling from Mexborough towards High Melton when it collided with an Iveco-Ford lorry on Melton Mill Lane.The four-year-old boy was travelling in the car and sustained fatal injuries
51-year-old driver of the car suffered slight injuries and the 49-year-old man, driving the lorry was not reported to have been hurt.
“Both men are from Doncaster.”
Scores of tributes have been posted on social network site facebook where a memorial page RIP Dylan Walker has been set up and “liked” by 1,773 people.
One tribute said: “I cannot imagine how the poor family will ever get through this and such a loss of a little innocent boy, it’s just tragic.
“RIP little angel.”
The statement said: “We are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal collision in the Swinton area of Rotherham.
“At 11.35pm on Saturday (8 June), officers were called to Racecourse Road in Swinton to reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision.
“It is reported that after travelling along Rockingham Road from the Woodman roundabout, a grey Seat Exeo collided with a wall on Racecourse Road at the junction with Church Street and Rockingham Road.
They are appealing for any witnesses to the fatal collision or prior collision and any motorists in the area around the time of the incident with information or dashcam footage to come forward.
The driver of the Seat, a 23-year-old man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.”

Officers believe that before the fatal crash, the Seat was involved in a minor collision with another vehicle on Warren Vale.
Another comment called for action over the site of the accident.
It read: “It’s about time someone did something about that road.
“I’ve lived here since April and that’s at least four accidents since then \_ too many.
