As a sophomore in high school, C.J. Harris was diagnosed with epilepsy, after suffering his fourth seizure. It took until January 2017, after 14 total seizures, for doctors to find a medication that worked. Harris began taking cannabis oil, and has been completely seizure-free for over a year.
Cannabis oil contains a small amount of THC, which is banned by the NCAA and shows up in drug tests. Because of this, he cannot play for the Tigers while on the medication.
