Many Verizon customers can’t hear you now.There appears to be a widespread outage of Verizon cell phone service, according to DownDetector, an online site that monitors websites and services.

If SOS or “SOS only” is in the status bar, the device isn’t connected to the customer’s cellular network. However, a user can still make emergency calls through other carrier networks, according to Apple.
