Apologizing after being hauled out of the Chinese airport, Novak Djokovic

After travelling in China to compete in the Shanghai Masters, Novak Djokovic failed to greet his Chinese supporters at the airport. For this, he has apologized. In an attempt to capture his fifth championship on Chinese territory, the Serbian athlete has travelled to the nation for the first time since 2019. When supporters halted Djokovic on the streets of Shanghai, he clarified that he was led out of the airport via an alternate exit. The tennis player reportedly stated, “I am in China after five years and I miss you,” according to Sportal.rs. I sincerely apologize for our failure to meet at the airport yesterday.

was disappointed to learn that you were present; I had no idea. They led me to an alternate exit. I’m hoping to see a lot of you in Shanghai or Beijing shortly. Mostly because of you, who have been following me for years, I’m pleased to be in China. I cherish every single one of you.

Following Alexei Popyrin’s unexpected elimination in the third round of the US Open back in August, Djokovic will be hoping to resume his winning ways. He still intends to go back to the top and win his fifth Chinese title, which would be his first since 2018.
