ESPN: Chiefs’ Travis Kelce gets emotional message from Jason amid slow start…

CHIEFS’ TE TRAVIS KELCE “NOT WORRIED” ABOUT LACK OF CATCHES AND YARDS TO START THE SEASON

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce wasn’t able to put up his usual numbers in the first three weeks of the 2024 NFL season. But this slow start doesn’t seem to worry Kelce too much.

Usually the favorite offensive weapon of quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Kelce managed just eight catches for 69 yards and zero touchdowns throughout Week 3.

“I’ve had a lot of catches in this league, man. I’m not worried about the catches and the yards and all that,” Kelce said while speaking about his struggles during the latest episode of the New Heights podcast. “I have the most fun when the ball is thrown my way, who doesn’t? It has everything to do with execution, just making sure we’re doing whatever we can to win these football games, man. That’s always going to be the goal.”

Kelce added that the most important thing for him is that the team is playing “winning” football. The Chiefs are 3-0 to start the season.

Travis Kelce’s low production has fueled the speculations that he is on the decline, with critics pointing out his quiet, at least by his own standards, 2023 campaign. Kelce finished the last season with 92 catches for 984 yards and five touchdowns, which was the first time since 2015 that he didn’t eclipse 1,000 yards receiving.

However, Kelce did step up in the postseason, making 32 catches for 355 yards and three touchdowns as the Chiefs won their second straight Super Bowl.

The Kansas City Chiefs do not have to worry about any locker room complaining due to subpar stats from their championship core.

Support systems in place take care of any Taylor Swift-sized calamities aggravating the Chiefs like dropped balls or missed blocks. Respected voices from outside the building sometimes chime in as well, which is fine as far as Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes are concerned. They will take all the help they can get in keeping a “trash” Travis Kelce cool-headed for the NFL Playoffs.

Brotherly bonds are not broken easily and one of the best sibling moments of the season took place on the New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce show. Fans got to watch as Travis listened to an emotional message from brother Jason during a recent podcast episode.

“It’s gonna go your way, especially if you keep being the guy you’ve always been. There ain’t nobody that I’ve ever played sports with and nobody that anyone’s ever been on a team with that has loved being out there with (Travis) more. It’s frustrating for me to watch and have to listen to but I can’t wait (for it to turn around),” Jason shared.

“I appreciate it, brother. And if it doesn’t (turn around), as long as we’re winning football games, we good to go, baby,” Travis joked.

Travis Kelce has a paltry eight receptions for 69 yards through three games. That is usually the haul after three quarters. A slow start to the season is a small problem, however. The Chiefs are 3-0 after all and their stars are not yet all on the same page. Being ready to produce on the biggest stage is the priority. At least one former Chiefs quarterback is not sweating the skeptics this early in the season.

Chase Daniel keeping up with Chiefs

Chase Daniel made millions of dollars doing clipboard work while others went out and played. Make no mistake though, Daniel is a Super Bowl champion who won NFL games with a 68% completion percentage. He knows what makes an offense tick, even if certain skill players are not getting touches.

Daniel knows big moments will come throughout a 17-game season. It’s all about the preparation for the moment and no one doubts Kelce in Kansas City.

“Opportunities come to superstars,” Daniel stated during an appearance on “The Facility”. “I know for a fact, I’m told by a reliable source that when Travis is on the road at these places (supporting Taylor Swift at events), he brings a gym on the road. He has a trainer. He has a massage therapist. He is doing the stuff you can do in the offseason while on the road supporting his girlfriend.”
