Virginia State Police said someone stole the vehicle on July 4, 1992. It was finally found at the bottom of Lake Gaston. MECKLENBURG COUNTY, Va. — Authorities in Virginia recovered a vehicle from Lake Gaston on Monday that they say was stolen from Fort Liberty over 30 years ago.
The Virginia State Police said someone stole the vehicle, a 1990 Nissan 240 SX, on July 4, 1992, from Fort Liberty, then Fort Bragg Officers discovered the vehicle while a rescue unit was using sonar equipment on a training exercise.
