Dolly’s Parton’s Imagination Library now available across Kentucky

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) – Many children don’t have access to books before starting school. However, country icon Dolly Parton is changing the dynamic.

The Imagination Library is a program that mails free books to children from the day they are born until they are five years old.

“A child can enroll at birth. A mother who is pregnant can enroll her child, and they can immediately start receiving books as soon as they are born,” said Hannah Gray, Director of Community Impact for United Way of Southern Kentucky.

The nonprofit is partnering with the Imagination Library and currently sponsors 8,600 children across nine counties in the Barren River Area.
