Across our three age groups of first team, Under-21s and Under-18s, we have seen some stunning finishes in the opening months of their respective seasons.

The nominations for our Uber Eats Goal of the Month award for August are:

MARVIN MEHLEM V SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY

Wednesday 14 August 2024 | MKM Stadium | Carabao Cup Round One

Marvin Mehlem’s first goal in English football came in a frantic cup fixture at home to Sheffield Wednesday. A brilliantly played pass by Abdüş Ömür from inside the Tigers’ half began the move, with the German midfielder using his strength to shield the ball and create the opening. Bringing the ball down, he calmly slotted his one-on-one finish past the onrushing Pierce Charles in the visiting goal.

LEWIE COYLE V PLYMOUTH ARGYLE

With the Tigers being a goal down at Home Park, captain Lewie Coyle began and finished a great team move with a scintillating first-time finish. Receiving the ball from Ivor Pandur deep in City territory, Coyle played a neat one-two with Will Jarvis before producing a diagonal surging run into Plymouth’s half. Finding Liam Millar out wide, the Canadian in-turn teed up a return pass for Coyle to arrow an unstoppable left-footed finish first time off the inside of the post and into the back of the net.

SINCERE HALL V WATFORD U21S

In the Under-21s’ first home game of the season, Sincere Hall produced a moment of magic at the MKM Stadium with a cracking first-time strike. With the ball ricocheting around the edge of the Watford penalty area, the ball was teed up kindly for the Bermudan international to strike a sweet volley from 25-yards out, beating Jonathan Macaulay with pure power and accuracy.

RAMELL CARTER V BRADFORD CITY U18S

Tuesday 27 August 2024 | Bradford City Training Ground | U18 Professional Development League Cup Group Stage

In the Under-18s’ opening game of the Professional Development League Cup away at Bradford City, new first-year scholar Ramell Carter continued his goalscoring form with a moment of individual quality. Receiving the ball out wide on the right flank, the winger darted into the penalty area before taking the ball out again to create the space and angle to curl his dipping left-footed finish directly into the top corner.
