She surpassed her season averages efficiently, shooting 66.7% on the game, as she currently posts 20.7 points and 12.2 rebounds per game on the year. Clark shared high praise for the 27-year-old, mentioning that there were some points in the game where she couldn’t believe the shots Collier was making. “She’s the staple of their team,” Clark said. “She does so much for their team. There were a few times where she made a few shots, and I caught myself like…. dang… can’t guard that. I don’t really do that often.”

With the victory, the Minnesota Lynx clinched a spot in the WNBA playoffs. They’re currently ranked as the No. 1 team in the Western Conference standings with a 22-8 record. They’re the hottest team in the league, riding a six-game win streak. Collier and the Lynx were tested against a young Fever team, but they were able to come away with the victory on WNBA legend Maya Moore’s jersey retirement night.

Caitlin Clark had a solid showing in the matchup as well. The rookie recorded 23 points, eight assists and five rebounds in the match. She’s been a star in the WNBA landscape, averaging 17.8 points and 8.3 assists per game, leading all rookies in both categories. The rookie had the Fever on the right note, riding a two-game win streak before their loss to Minnesota.

She’ll have an opportunity to help Indiana get back in the win column on Aug. 26 at 7:30 p.m. ET against the Atlanta Dream.
